Chicken Little Farm is a solar-powered market garden, using organic practices to grow fresh vegetables (and maybe a few other things) in Treherne, Manitoba.

The primary goal of Chicken Little Farm is to provide a reliable source of fresh, nutritious food for our community. But there are a few other goals as well: caring for the land that provides for us, using resources responsibly, promoting biodiversity, and developing innovative growing methods for our challenging and changing climate.

As farms go, it’s tiny—a two-acre, off-grid plot in the middle of a generational organic grain farm. But the impact of small-scale farming is huge.

The garlic is in the ground, and there’s a lot of planning and prep to do before spring. In the meantime, here’s how you can help:
